So I was watching some tube, and there was this story on crab fishing somewhere off the coast of Alaska in the Bering Sea. God, I want to do it! Watching huge waves roll over the huge crab boats and these guys getting tossed around in subzero temperatures and pitch black… Just lots of hard work and man vs. sea in the biggest possible way. Plus, these guys are pulling down 20 grand for an eight week season. Serious!
Only drawback: apparently, they lose (i.e. to death) one crew member a week up there from one fishing boat or another. Riskiest career in the country was how it was described. There’s always a drawback.
Still grappling with: What now?
Maybe I should be studying and going to bed instead. After all — counting chickens early, etc…
