…as I told a certain someone recently is to watch college footbal and drink brews with falling autumn leaves outside, always and forever, twenty-four hours a day, three-hudred-sixty-five days a year, until I die a fat, obnixous fan with nothing to my life but a lot of cheering.
The other thing I want is to take back the moral insulation I lost when I began to learn. Once one knows of an injustice, one has a moral imperative to right it. When everything, even contradicting and opposing things, are injustices—there is no longer any moral course of action other than non-participation.
Once you know, you are condemned—either to die by your own morally justified hand or to live as a collaborator.
Knowledge educates the mind and destroys the soul.
